Environmental Planning
nghenvironmental has worked extensively in the area of environmental planning in montane, sub-alpine and alpine environment. An example of our work includes building design, landscape planning, cultural assessment and environmental planning and assessment for a proposed toilet block at Rawsons Pass, 200 metres from the summit Mount Kosciuszko, one of Australia’s most sensitive and iconic locations. Environmental Impact Assessment
nghenvironmental offer specialist expertise in the assessment of environmental impacts resulting from proposed developments. We have prepared environmental impact assessments (EIA’s) for a diverse range of proposals. Examples include EIA for development of ski lift and new ski terrain at the Golf Course Ski Bowl, Thredbo and numerous environmental impact assessment documents for the NSW Parks & Wildlife Division of the Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC), including for the replacement of 5 bridges on Elliot Way and for major works on the Perisher Valley Water Supply, and numerous EIA’s for Snowy Hydro focusing on infrastructure maintenance and development, including roads, dams and power station infrastructure.
Natural Resource Assessments
nghenvironmental has extensive experience and expertise in the biodiversity studies and assessments in high altitude environments. Examples of our work includes the updating of vegetation assemblage mapping of the South East Forests National Park for Parks & Wildlife Division of the Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) (click here for more information on this project), vegetation mapping of all NSW Ski Resorts for Planning NSW, and completion of a number of extensive CRA fauna surveys in the Snowy Mountains.

Alpine Rehabilitation
nghenvironmental have extensive expertise in the preparation of rehabilitation plans within high-altitude environments. Such plans require a thorough understanding of alpine ecology. Examples of work undertaken include rehabilitation plans for the proposed Golf Course Ski Bowl, and major ski slope works at the Catwalk, both prepared for Kosciusko Thredbo, and rehabilitation plans for a variety of sites at Jindabyne, prepared for Snowy Hydro Limited (then Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric Authority).
We have also prepared the Rehabilitation Manual for the Resort Areas, prepared for use by resort managers and others undertaking rehabilitation work in the ski resort areas of Kocsiuszko National Park.
