Amy graduated from Charles Sturt University with a double degree in Bachelor of Applied Science (Parks, Recreation and Heritage) and (Ecotourism), majoring in Wildlife Ecology and Management. She is currently enrolled to complete a Graduate Certificate in Ornithology, also with Charles Sturt University. Amy has over 18months professional experience in environmental management, planning and biodiversity surveys.

Environmental Management and Planning
Prior to joining nghenvironmental, Amy worked for the Department of Environment and Climate Change (DECC), National Parks and Wildlife Division as a Ranger. During this time she managed the following National Parks and Reserves:

  • Weddin Mtns National Park
  • Conimbla National Park
  • Tollingo Nature Reserve
  • Woggoon Nature Reserve
  • West Pilliga CCA Zones 1 and 3
  • Girralang Nature Reserve
  • Mullion Range State Conservation Area
  • Freemantle Nature Reserve

As a ranger, Amy’s experiences included preparing Review of Environmental Factors, 7-Part Tests, Threatened Species Habitat Assessments, Rehabilitation and Damage Assessments for Wildfires, the preparation of hazard reduction burn plans and implementing GIS, Arcview and GPS.

Biodiverisity Surveys
Amy has 2 years experience in biodiversity surveys and assessments with a focus on avifauna surveys. During this time, she has gained extensive experience in undertaking surveys of birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians, co researched the post fire avifauna monitoring program within the Pilliga region and undertaken full fauna surveys within a number of National Parks and reserves across NSW and northern Victoria. Since joining nghenvironmental, Amy has been involved in a number of flora and fauna surveys and assessments across a range of environments from Alpine to semi-arid regions. She has completed a number of specialist flora and fauna assessments and prepared 7-Part tests for threatened biota.
