Erwin has an undergraduate degree in environmental science, majoring in terrestrial ecology, and a master’s degree in environmental engineering management. Erwin’s background is in flora and fauna assessment and management, and most recently he has been working as an environmental advisor in the construction industry. He has a keen interest in natural resource management and terrestrial ecology.
In his profession, Erwin has completed numerous environmental impact assessments within a range of disciplines such as residential and commercial subdivisions, road and rail infrastructure and nature conservation. During the past 3 years Erwin’s role as an environmental advisor for a major infrastructure organisation took him across south west NSW where he advised on matters ranging from the impact of legislation on construction projects through to the selection and implementation of on-site environmental management controls. He has developed a thorough understanding of environment issues in western NSW and worked closely with the construction industry to develop practical environmental management measures suited to this part of the country.
During his career, Erwin has gained an in-depth understanding of environmental planning and legislation matters and has worked implementing federal and state government policies. He has prepared numerous environmental management plans including Project Plans, Waste Management Plans, Flora and Fauna Management Plans and Noise Management Plans.
Erwin has experience in developing and implementing Environmental Management Systems, and has regularly completed environmental audits, the most recent of which include audits of road maintenance and construction projects in Orange, Yass and Kosciuszko National Park. He has also prepared and delivered environmental training packages to construction workers, supervisors and management.
