Nick is a graduate from the University of Melbourne, where he has focused his studies and research on the taxonomy, systematics and ecology of Australia’s marine macroalgae. He is currently completing his PhD in this field (http://www.rgbsyd.nsw.gov.au/organisation_businesses/our_people/research_students/Nick_Yee).
Nick has been involved in a number of surveys assessing macroalgal diversity along the southern Australian coast and most recently assisted in surveys conducted across a range of inshore and offshore habitats along the New South Wales south coast, a project that was funded by the NSW biodiversity strategy. Nick worked with the Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust for a number of years where he assisted in documenting the biodiversity of New South Wales marine macroalgae and provided external consultation regarding exotic species and ports and harbours surveys to NSW Fisheries and the Australian Museum.
More recently Nick has co-authored Algkey, an online interactive identification key to 235 freshwater algal genera in Australia, which can be found at:

Nick’s expertise is undertaking intertidal and subtidal biodiversity assessments of marine flora and fauna in temperate waters.
