Rail Services
The management of rail projects involves a complex understanding of Federal, State and Local environmental legislation and planning policies, as well as transport and rail legislation and a range of other related planning instruments. nghenvironmental have extensive experience in environmental planning and management for the rail transport sector. For clients such as Railcorp and the Transport Infrastructure Development Corporation (TIDC), we have demonstrated an ability to manage and coordinate large projects and multidisciplinary planning teams, providing services such as:
- Advice on the development approval process, environmental law and policy;
- Project management;
- Assessment of environmental site constraints to assist with planning;
- Preparation of relevant environmental/planning documentation including Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental Management Plans, Landscaping and Rehabilitation Plans, Erosion & Sediment Control / Stormwater Management Plans, Archaeological Reports, Visual Assessments & Photo Montages; and
- provision of other services such as Environmental Impact Assessment, Biodiversity Assessment, Bushfire Planning and Assessment, Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Assessments, mapping (including the use of GIS) and aerial photo interpretation.
TIDC is responsible for developing major transport infrastructure projects for the NSW government. nghenvironmental have prepared EIA documents for works associated with the Epping to Chatswood Rail Link as well as preparing aquatic environmental management plans for the South Sydney Freight Line. nghenvironmental have extensive experience in a range of supporting work such as auditing, inspections and onsite environmental management. Several nghenvironmental staff have completed the rail safety induction training. All of our staff hold NSW WorkCover OHS induction cards.

Environmental Management Systems nghenvironmental assisted RailCorp in the preparation of its Environmental Management System (EMS). Associated tasks included:
- development of a Guideline for Environmental Management Plans; and
- preparation of system requirements and procedures for waste and resource management.
We have also undertaken environmental reporting for RailCorp, including reporting required under the NSW government's Waste Reduction and Purchasing Policy, the Government Energy Management Policy, the National Pollutant Inventory and the Greenhouse Challenge Plus.
