Stig Virtanen provides nghenvironmental with specialist support in all aspects of recreation, tourism and rural land use planning. Stig's capabilities include:
- Strategic planning for tourism and recreation in national parks,
tourism regions and destinations; sustainable nature tourism and
recreation; monitoring strategies and visitor surveys;
- Management planning for public lands, community reserves and national parks;
- Community and stakeholder consultation;
- Facility planning for tourist destinations, sporting facilities, community recreation areas and protected areas;
- Analysis, budgeting and feasibility assessment;
- Marketing and promotion strategies; and
- Rural land use planning.
Stig has over twenty years experience in recreation and tourism planning and management, protected area and outdoor recreation planning, demand analysis, community consultation and rural land use planning. He has worked for local and state government, in consultancies and as a business operator in tourism and hospitality. Stig’s experience in planning covers a wide range from site specific planning, development of plans of mangement to municipal and regional recreation, tourism and land use strategies across NSW, Victoria and the ACT.
