Community Consultation, Training and Media

Community Consultation

nghenvironmental have undertaken a number of projects requiring extensive community and stakeholder consultation. This has included development and implementation of a number of community consultation plans with the objective of engaging community input for contentious development proposals such as windfarms. We have undertaken the environmental assessment, including community consultation for 6 wind farms to date, including one, the 1,000 MW Silverton windfarm, which would be the biggest in the southern hemisphere. Of the four wind farm proposals that we have so far submitted for development consent, all have been approved by the NSW determining authorities. For more information about our work in the renewable energy sector, click here.

In addition to windfarms, nghenvironmental have, and continue to prepare, a number of consultation plans for mobile phone base stations on behalf of Telstra. Our Consultation plans generally involved advertising, media releases and 'open house' format sessions. Emotional responses and polarised view points often characterise contentious developpments, underscoring the importance of effective consultation. nghenvironmental are extremely capable in managing successful stakeholder consultation programs.
